HELP WITH CONTINUING EDUCATION

What is i-counseling? How can it help me earn the continuing education hours that I need? The i-counseling online platform gives you the opportunity for self-directed professional development. In accordance with the requirements of many professional organizations, you will take an examination at the end of a selected program to assess your comprehension of the subject matter. Once you pass the examination, you will be able to print a certificate of completion for the program.

HELP WITH VIEWING A PROGRAM

What is Adobe Acrobat Reader? Why does i-counseling use Adobe Acrobat? Where do I get it? Where can I get help with Adobe Acrobat Reader? Our programs are generated for Adobe Acrobat Reader version 5.0 or higher, the primary form and documentation program for the Internet. Adobe Acrobat Reader is used by the Internal Revenue Service, many educational institutions and most industries. Please keep in mind that many of our documents are lengthy and may take a long time to open, depending on the speed of your connection.

Here are guidelines for opening these files.

  1. If you have Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or higher:

    Click on the view button next to the name of the program, and the document will open for you to read and print.
  2. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or higher:

    You will need to download Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or higher in order to open the i-counseling course PDF files. To download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, go to http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html. Follow the instructions for Adobe Acrobat Reader on Adobe's Web site. Remember to both download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader in order for the program to open our courses. Adobe Acrobat Reader is shareware, which means you can download and install it for free.
  3. If you have Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or higher and still cannot open the file, or if you cannot download Adobe Acrobat Reader:

    Please contact Adobe directly through www.adobe.com. The i-counseling site cannot provide assistance in loading or using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Please do not purchase a program examination without verifying that you can download the program materials. All purchases from i-counseling are nonrefundable. You also may consider using a public access computer at locations such as the public library.

HELP WITH TAKING AN EXAMINATION

How do I begin the examination? How do I know if the questions I completed were correct? What if I want to finish the examination at a later date? Before you can take a program examination, you much first purchase the program. Once you have done so, click the TAKE button next to the program in the COURSES OFFERED section. This will open a new page. To begin your program examination, click the START EXAMINATION button located at the bottom of that new page.

The examination is not timed. However, you need to click the EXAMINATION FINISHED button at the bottom of the examination page at least once every 20 minutes—even if you have not finished the examination—to avoid timing out and losing your answers. Internet sessions time out after 20 minutes to help ensure the privacy and security of your information. If your session times out, you can retake the examination to complete the unanswered questions, as well as any incorrectly answered ones.

After you click the EXAMINATION FINISHED button: If you had incorrect answers or unanswered questions, an error message will pop up. Click “CLOSE” to continue the examination and answer questions that were not answered or were answered incorrectly. The questions that you answered correctly will no longer appear.

You may end your examination at any time and begin testing again by logging in and clicking on the TAKE button next to that program in the program list.

HELP WITH PRINTING A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

How do I print my certificate of completion? Will it be stored for future reference? To print your certificate(s) of completion, log in and click the PRINT CERTIFCATES button on the COURSES OFFERED page. Your certificates of completion are stored electronically and can be retrieved by logging in to i-counseling.
